Villifying a person for growing up in a third world country and thus eating things we, as an American society, would not consider “good” or even “humane” or even, incidentally, “civilized,” is a ridiculous argument.

I’m going to tell you right now: I’m sick and tired of this orientalist “OMG THOSE ASIANS THEY EAT EVERYTHING” bullshit.

Fuck you, white people. Why the hell do you think Asian countries have a history of eating things that seem outside the “acceptable” western palate?

It’s because there’s less forms “acceptably western” protein.

Meat is really fucking expensive in many asian countries. In my experience, going home? Beef is soooo expensive.  Dog? Well, it’s meat. It’s more readily available in many ways. And grasshoppers? So fucking what? 

Fuck you and your weirdly judgmental stance on poverty and cultural relativism.
