-Rape and sexual assault crimes are committed against Native American women because reservations are some of the most poverty stricken places in the U.S., and when the income gets lower, the crime rate gets higher. It does NOT occur (by “it” I mean rape) because someone saw a girl on tumblr looking sexy with some feathers in her hair.Once again, let’s blame the RAPISTS, not VICTIMS and women who are wearing a style because they think it’s cute.

-On that note, cultural appropriation…wtf?! Seriously?! Iconic, aesthetic elements of different cultures have been admired, and subsequently emulated, for years. This subject just baffles me. Cultures have been borrowing from each other for years, it is not a “new” thing. Would you label every person of non-Asian descent with a koi fish tattoo as an “ignorant, racist asshole?” Or what about people with tribal tattoos who obviously aren’t part of any cultural “tribe”? How about this ~tumblr, FUCKING CROSSES AND ST.PETER’S CROSSES WORN BY PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE ANY RELIGIOUS BELIEF?! I for one, LOVE, ADMIRE AND ABSOLUTELY adore many iconography of other cultures and religions, such as Hindu, Buddhist, Native American, Mexican, Catholic,Christian, and countless others. I wear a lot of symbols and imagery that may not be MY culture, but I have an admiration for the aesthetic quality of said imagery. I don’t believe myself to be racist or ignorant.

-RACISM CAN OCCUR AGAINST WHITES. I HATE THE ARGUMENT THAT WHITES ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE THE POSSIBILITY OF RACIST THOUGHTS. People of minority status CAN BE RACIST TOO. GET OVER IT. For example, I think Affirmative Action is a load of fucking shit. If a person gets a job because they fill a “Race Quota”,but not necessarily because they fulfill the job requirements, that will promote more resentment and racist thinking.

For example, I thought it was FUCKING WRONG that my high school Senior Class Scholarship, where they pick out the senior with the highest grades and most extracurricular activities, was only available to minority students. No one of Caucasian descent was eligible for what was supposed to be a MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIP. Imagine if it were the other way around, that the scholarship was ONLY AVAILABLE TO WHITES, people would be freaking out and my school would have been on the news for being racist.

Honestly, this is my opinion off the top of my head. I didn’t do any research or anything on the matter, so who knows, maybe I’m a fucking racist, ignorant idiot.

The thing is, I really don’t think so.

By the way, this is the last rant, I am not a social activist or do-gooder of any kind. This is just my opinion.
