This kinda makes me mad cause you’re missing the whole point of the whole ep. Xanders speech had nothing to do with making Buffy like Riley more. He was making sure she knew what she was about to loose. I mean he ever said if she didn’t think she could love him to just let him go and she realized that she did care about Riley more then she knew she did THANKS to Xander. So really his speech wins and you fail.

Orrrr Riley was a fucked up, insecure, whiny little bitch who never really got Buffy at all and was all “ohhh I have the biggest insecurity complex evarrrr watch me be emo over vampires and be a blood whore” and Buffy was like “dammit you are being ridiculous” and Xander was like, “let me madonna/whore guilt you into trying to get a boy back that didn’t really understand you anyways he just pretended to be devoted but really was all weirdly hypocritical”
